Role:
As Lead AI Engineer, you head up a small, AI-driven delivery team of two: yourself and an AI Engineer. Together you take on client projects one at a time — each one resulting in a production web or mobile application — before moving on to the next. You own the architecture and technical direction of every project, and you're the team's face to the customer: managing the relationship with customer management, stakeholders, and product owners throughout delivery. You also manage and direct your AI Engineer teammate, translating stakeholder input into a clear backlog and specifications for them to execute against, using AI agents as the primary means of production.

‍Responsibilities:       
• Own the relationship with customer management, stakeholders, and product owners for each project
• Define and own the application architecture for each project (web or mobile)
• Translate stakeholder and product owner requirements into a clear backlog and technical specifications
• Direct and manage your AI Engineer teammate's work, reviewing and validating their output
• Oversee delivery end-to-end, from specification through AI-agent-driven implementation to production release
• Make the technology and architecture choices that keep each application secure, scalable, and maintainable
• Represent the team in status updates, planning, and escalations with the customer
• Move with your teammate from one client project to the next, adapting architecture and approach to each new context

‍Requirements:
• Proven experience owning application architecture for production web or mobile applications (.NET/EF Core, ASP.NET Core, or a comparable backend; React/React Native experience a plus)
• Experience managing client relationships directly — comfortable discussing architecture and trade-offs with customer management, stakeholders, and product owners
• Experience directing and reviewing the work of at least one other engineer
• Hands-on experience directing AI coding agents on real projects, from specification through review to delivery
• Ability to translate stakeholder requirements into a clear, well-prioritized backlog
• Confidence making architecture calls under time and commercial pressure, and defending them in customer language
• Comfort switching contexts between projects — new customer, new stakeholders, new architecture, every few months
